Elizabeth Jameson
Elizabeth is a corporate/commercial lawyer by background. In that capacity, for over 15 years she provided corporate legal and related assistance to a large range of companies, organisations and industries.
In early 2002, she resigned as a partner of a national law firm, to found Board Matters Pty Ltd, a specialist board governance consultancy, with associated legal practice, Board Matters Legal. This combines Elizabeth's legal experience with her wealth of practical experience as a member of a large number of boards over the past decade. Through Board Matters, she assists boards in all aspects of their governance, such as board professional development workshops; designing and implementing tailored governance systems, manuals and policies; and implementing risk management and compliance processes. This has included extensive work with church agencies, community service, arts, education, national and state industry peak bodies, and other not-for-profit organisations, as well as government owned corporations and for-profit companies and ventures.
Elizabeth currently holds board positions with Ergon Energy Pty Ltd, MAP Funds Management Ltd (in which she also founded and chairs the Compliance Committee), Queensland Music Festival Pty Ltd (as Chair), Brisbane Girls' Grammar School (as Deputy Chair), and, until February 2006, the Association of Independent Schools of Queensland (Vice President).
